James F. Martin,
Chairman and CEO
Mr. Martin is an internationally recognized turnaround expert, who has guided multiple businesses to profitability in some of the most challenging economic times in U.S. history. Martin has served virtually all major industries.
In the mid-nineties, Martin served as President and Chief Financial Officer for a master U.S. fast food franchisee in Eastern Europe. During this time, he successfully grew the brand from 10 stores to 42 over a six-year period. This created 750 new jobs for the franchisee in a developing area of the world.
In the early 2000s, Martin served as president of Avborne, Inc., a Miami-based Aviation industry maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) concern. The company faced $123 million debt in default following the 9/11 attacks and subsequent economic downturn. Over a six-year period, Martin led two divisions back from the brink of bankruptcy to sustained profitability, successfully growing the company to $120 million of revenue while restoring 500 new jobs to the local economy.
In 2008, Martin stepped into a tier-two automotive supplier with plants on three continents. Despite the worst economic downturn in over half a century, Martin restored positive cash flow and positioned it to participate in its industry’s rebound which saved 100 jobs.
In 2013, Martin became a shareholder and CEO of a medical device company that manufactures SPO2 cables for the U.S. blood oximeter market. Mr. Martin grew this business over the next 7 years. The company’s capacity allowed it to provide much needed medical support at the outset of the COVID pandemic.
Mr. Martin is the founder of ACM Capital Partners, a successful restructuring and strategic renewal advisory company in South Florida. ACM has assisted over 200 companies with combined revenues in excess of $3 billion.
Besides unprecedented turnaround success, Martin’s expertise includes strategic renewal, organizational reform, debt restructuring, and raising capital. Martin is also well versed in the world of bankruptcy as he has successfully guided companies through Chapter 11 filings and has sold companies through the process.
